About Yeadon Sailing Club

National 12 Event

YSC is for everyone, young or not so young, experienced or novice. Offering a safe, friendly, family environment with training for beginners (Tues night) and those wanting confidence. We hold regular organised racing sessions on Wednesdays and weekends, we also offer training sessions on Tuesday nights (April to August) for those wishing to build their confidence. We also enjoy an active off-the-water social calendar. The Club is organised and run by a committee formed from the membership and elected by the membership. Club members can make full use of the facilities of the clubhouse at Yeadon Tarn,

which provides changing rooms with hot showers and a well-equipped kitchen. Access to the dinghy park is also available for boat storage where applicable. A regular programme of racing is organised on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, and Wednesday evenings with training on Tuesday evenings. These events are run by Club members for club members, and all members will be expected to help out occasionally (it's only once or twice a year).

FAQ - I've never sailed before, do you offer training?

We hold training sessions on Tuesday evenings from late April to mid September. Most new sailors come along and give it a try, most keep coming back! Take a look at our calendar to check out dates of training. Alternatively if you are interested in completing a formal course such as RYA level 1 and 2, then try Leeds Sailing Centre (Yeadon Tarn) or Pugneys Country Park (Wakefield). Read more...
